Body of Man Sculpture 1

$40.00

Each figure was hand sculpted. painted, and air cured before being sealed in high gloss finish- the bodies of this series are all unique and exhibit purposeful flaws that highlight the beautiful visage of men.

Artist Statement:

It started with a twerking accident and a broken wrist during the peak of covid 19, when the world was shutting down and culminated into sparks of inspiration that sprang forth from the shuttered isolation of quarantine- a painted figure, a combination of the physical and the mental intertwined drawing on memories of long closed gay bars that I often visited with Romanelli.

In an odd synchronicity I was working on this series as Andrew Romanelli was working on Rotgut, and it's release pushed the series forward to what is seen today- inspired by his body of work- but wanting to produce something tangible something you can reach out and touch- I craved texture, the feeling of paint and clay- I wanted to examine the beauty of men and showcase it and the vast nature of sexuality.

Some exhibit strong hard bodies- with a muscular physique whereas others roll into a comfortable soft bodied form representing a wide berth of physical attraction-

The headless nature of the figures should elicit a certain anonymity that encompasses us all- each of us fitting into someone's idea of beauty, I welcome you to find yourself in this series.
